The members of the First Squad waited outside the gate with Gizmon, listening to the loud crashing sounds from inside. Yet, no Digimon emerged—they had come up empty-handed.
The report quickly reached the Guard Squad Captain, who relayed it to Kurata.
Kurata furrowed his brows, sensing something was amiss.
Soon after, a report arrived from the surveillance room.
Although the cameras inside the building had been destroyed by Sora, the ones outside were still operational. They had captured footage of Sora leading the Digimon out through a hole in the wall.
“Oh? Instead of using the main entrance, they chose to break through the wall? This Angewomon is quite unique—not just a mindless beast…”
Kurata chuckled softly. At first, he had been indifferent, but now, his interest was piqued.
Curious about the Angewomon’s recent activities, he accessed past surveillance footage on another computer.
What he saw left him stunned.
At some point, the Angewomon had mysteriously vanished for a period of time, only reappearing right before breaking the stasis pod.
Kurata’s expression darkened.
His anger wasn’t directed at the Angewomon in the footage but at the security personnel in the surveillance room.
Such a significant event had gone unreported!
Were those security personnel nothing but useless hires with connections? How could they not have noticed that Angewomon had disappeared for a while?
Where had Angewomon gone during that time? Why had she returned? Was it to rescue the remaining Digimon? But what had happened that gave her the power to escape in the first place…
Kurata’s face remained cold as countless thoughts raced through his mind.
Something utterly beyond his comprehension and control was unfolding—a thing he despised the most.

The Guard Squad Captain quickly issued a new order, “First Squad, fall back! Second Squad, move in and surround them from the outside!”
Kurata added, “Capture Angewomon. Do not eliminate her.”
He was no longer just interested—he was determined to find out where she had gone during that disappearance.
She had to be captured alive!
The Guard Squad Captain hesitated. “But didn’t you say earlier that it wasn’t necessary?”
‘That was before. This is now.’
Kurata shot him a sidelong glance, offering no explanation—just a smile. “I said, capture her.”
Though the expression was a smile, it sent chills down the Captain’s spine. He hurriedly responded, “Yes, sir!”
He immediately revised the order, “Second Squad, cancel the termination mission—capture them instead!”
Meanwhile, in the hospital courtyard—
A crimson beam of light suddenly descended from the sky!
BOOM!
The red beam cut deep into the grass before Sora, Vademon, and the other Digimons, carved a long gash in the ground. Following the beam’s trajectory upward, they saw a purple and green machine descending from above.
A spherical main body, with two flat metallic arms extending from its sides, and green cable-like tendrils dangling below.

“Huh? What is that?!” Vademon and the other Digimons were alarmed.
As natives of the Digital World, they had at least heard of most Digimon species, even if they hadn’t seen them before. However, this one was entirely unfamiliar—completely unheard of.
Even the Angewomon in Sora’s mind was equally surprised.
Finding this odd, Sora asked, “You’ve never seen a Gizmon before?”
“No,” Angewomon replied.
“Then who captured you?”
“Bio-Quetzalmon.”
“…”
Sora understood now. Kurata didn’t just have Gizmon—he also had three Digimon Hunters under his command.
Each of those three had undergone Bio-Digimon surgery, having Digimon implanted into their bodies. By infusing Digital Souls into their Digivices, they could evolve into Bio-Digimon. One of them—a genius girl—could evolve into Bio-Quetzalmon.
It seemed all the Digimon captured by Kurata, including Angewomon, had been hunted down by those three.
Realizing this, Sora said, “Be careful. If you’re hit by its laser beam, not even a Digi-Egg will remain!”
When Digimon die, they usually leave behind a Digi-Egg, allowing them to be reborn.
Although most Digimon lose their past memories upon rebirth, at least they get another chance at life.
Even so, if struck by Gizmon:AT’s laser, they wouldn’t even leave behind a Digi-Egg. It would be true death—erased from existence!
Vademon and the others were horrified. “Not even a chance to be reborn?! That’s too cruel! Is this thing a Digimon killer?!”
In that instant, Gizmon:AT’s arms suddenly extended like whips, lashing toward Sora from both sides.
Sora swiftly leaped into the air, gliding three meters above the ground while keeping a close eye on Gizmon:AT, ready to dodge its laser at any sign of an attack.
If she got hit, she would be erased too.
Seeing her take flight, Gizmon:AT followed suit, quickly closing in.
‘Good—come closer!’
As Gizmon:AT approached, Sora charged up her fist and struck.
BAAAM!
With a loud crash, Gizmon:AT was knocked backward, skidding three or four meters and leaving a two-meter-long gash in the ground. Despite that, it quickly recovered, showing no signs of pain—only recalibrating before continuing its approach.
It was a soulless machine!
The only sign of damage was a small dent where she hit it.
“What?! That’s all the damage it took?!” Vademon and the others were shocked.
Sora’s heart sank.
Her Holy Spiral Fist could punch through a twenty-centimeter-thick wall, yet it had only left a tiny dent in Gizmon:AT’s body.
‘What incredible defense!’
As a Digimon with dual consciousness, Sora had both her own thoughts and Angewomon’s within her mind.
Angewomon swiftly analyzed the data, “You’d need to increase your attack power tenfold to just break through Gizmon:AT’s outer shell.”

Sora clenched her teeth. What kind of joke was this? It’s not like she had Kaioken!
Even if she had time to charge up, she could, at best, double her attack power.

Digimon evolution stages are divided into Baby, In-Training, Rookie, Champion, Ultimate, and Mega.
Normally, a Champion-level Digimon wouldn’t be able to challenge an Ultimate-level one.

Gizmon:AT, for example, was only Champion-level but had a mechanical body made of Digi-Alloy, making it nearly impervious—even to most Ultimate-level Digimon.

SkullSatamon’s power spread through Gizmon:AT’s body and it suddenly froze before collapsing to the ground.
“It worked! Let’s go!”
Sora exhaled in relief, dispelling the magic before leading the Digimons away.
She knew Gizmon was mass-produced. Defeating one was already difficult enough—if more arrived, escape would be impossible.
So the best plan?
Run!
