After escaping the hospital, Sora counted the numbers.
‘Vademon, Goblimon, Mushroomon, Otamamon, Gekomon, Kunemon…’
‘Good, no one is missing.’
[Evolution Paths: Fallen, Mutant]
Sora noticed a change in the evolution paths displayed on the interface—a new option called “Mutant Evolution.”
She clicked for more details.
Familiar names like Sukamon and Numemon appeared, but surprisingly, so did Seraphimon and Sanzomon!
Condensing the information, she got the following data:
[Seraphimon: 5%]
[Sanzomon: 1%]
Seraphimon was an Ultimate-level Angel Digimon like Angewomon but with a male appearance.
As for Sanzomon, it was a Digimon based on Tang Sanzang from Journey to the West, but with a female monk design influenced by Japanese aesthetics.
The percentages, “5%” and “1%,” represented the probability of successfully evolving into those Digimons.
Sora muttered, “I now have a chance to evolve into Seraphimon and Sanzomon.”
She was speaking to Angewomon.
Since they shared the same consciousness, there was no reason to hide the interface from Angewomon. Besides, aside from its uncontrollable transmigration mechanism, the interface mainly allowed her to view her own evolution paths.
She told Angewomon about the new evolution paths to get her opinion.
Angewomon pondered, “…A Digimon’s evolution is influenced by its mindset, psychological state, physical condition, and actions. I believe our act of rescuing these Digimon created the potential to evolve into Seraphimon or Sanzomon.”
Sora nodded in understanding.
Nonetheless, probabilities were just probabilities. If she actually attempted Mutant Evolution, she was far more likely to become Sukamon or Numemon—resulting in failed evolution.
Fortunately, she had Take Over Magic, which allowed her to choose not to evolve. As long as she could “draw” the Seraphimon or Sanzomon “card,” she could use Take Over Magic to obtain some of their power without evolving.
Sora muttered, “Too bad all our current possibilities are only Ultimate-level.”
Whether it was Fallen Evolution or Mutant Evolution, the highest-level Digimon displayed was still only Ultimate. There were no Mega-level options yet, likely because she hadn’t met the conditions for Mega Evolution.
Angewomon reassured her, “Don’t be discouraged. Mega Evolution is something only a few Digimon can achieve.”
If it were just her alone, she wouldn’t even dare to dream of Mega Evolution.
For wild Digimon, evolution was already difficult, and achieving Mega Evolution was as rare as a phoenix feather.
Sora said, “I’m not discouraged—I’m even more excited now.”
If she could gain the power of a Mega-level Digimon, even temporarily, it would give her a stronger sense of security when facing powerful enemies.
Having that security meant she could live more freely.
Living freely had another name—carefree. That was exactly the life Sora longed for.
To achieve that life, she had to keep growing stronger. If she had enough power, then even traveling to a new world every month would feel like a vacation.
Brilliant!
So, how could she get stronger?
Sora’s path to strength had already begun to take shape.
That was through Take Over Magic!
Step one—create the possibility of evolving into a certain Digimon.
Step two—use Take Over Magic to absorb that possibility.
With this method, she could quickly grow stronger.
Digimon evolution combined with Take Over Magic—the perfect synergy!
The more she used Take Over Magic, the more skilled she would become. So, the real challenge was step one—”How to create evolution possibilities.”
Sora muttered, “As long as I create more evolution possibilities, we can become stronger! … If I learned Dragon Slayer Magic, I might gain the possibility of evolving into a dragon-type Digimon.”
Dragon Slayer Magic granted its users dragon-like traits. Since only a dragon could slay a dragon, it was named Dragon Slayer Magic.
But she had already left the Fairy Tail world. Learning Dragon Slayer Magic now was no longer an option.
Even if she were still in Fairy Tail, learning Dragon Slayer Magic would be extremely difficult.
Angewomon said, “Laxus is also a Dragon Slayer Mage. His magic power carries dragon attributes. If we could absorb that power, we might create the possibility of evolving into Holydramon.”
Holydramon?
An image of a pink-haired husky-like dragon popped into Sora’s mind.
Holydramon, along with Qinglongmon, Goddramon, and Megidramon, was one of the “Four Great Holy Dragons.” In the Digital World, dragon-type Digimons were synonymous with power, so in terms of combat strength, Holydramon was indeed powerful.
Its biggest flaw was… its appearance.
But that didn’t matter—she wouldn’t truly evolve into Holydramon. She would just use Take Over Magic to temporarily acquire its power. At most, her limbs would develop Holydramon’s fur, turning her into a half-human, half-beast form. She wouldn’t fully transform into Holydramon.
Essentially, she’d become a beast-eared girl, which was totally within her preferences.
Cough, cough…
“I need to write this down and test it when I have time.”
Now wasn’t the best time, since they were still on the run.
“Also, I need to do more things like today’s rescue. Increasing my ‘virtue’ should improve my chances of evolving into Seraphimon or Sanzomon. That would also raise my probability of drawing their cards.”
‘…It kind of feels like role-playing.’
By acting according to a certain role’s traits, she could increase her chances of evolving into that role…
‘Whatever, it doesn’t matter.’
Speaking of drawing cards, Sora suddenly remembered she hadn’t used today’s ten draws yet.
“Let’s find a safe place first before drawing.”
Sora led the Digimon toward the city, aiming to find DATS—the Digital Accident Tactics Squad, or the main team from Digimon Savers.
DATS had a portal to the Digital World, and she needed that portal to send these Digimon back home.
The problem was—she had no idea where DATS’ headquarters was.
Where should she even start looking?
“Angewomon.” Vademon called out.
“What is it?” Sora turned around.
Vademon pointed toward a food street. “Goblimon said he was hungry and ran over there.”
Sora’s anger flared. “That idiot!”
Vademon, Mushroomon, Otamamon, Gawappamon, and Kunemon all flinched.
The usually elegant Angewomon was now cursing out loud, proving just how furious she was.
In her mind, Angewomon reminded her, “Watch your words, Sora. It affects your role-playing.”
‘…And my image, too.’
Sora took a deep breath, her chest rising and falling, before calming down, “Can I just ignore him?”
‘Let Goblimon fend for himself…’
Angewomon hesitated, “Well… that would harm your virtue.”
‘Sigh, being a good person is hard…’
Sora sighed, “No wonder Fallen Evolution is easier. Just act wild and indulge yourself, and you’re free.”
Angewomon’s tone grew serious, “Corrupt freedom isn’t true freedom.”
“…I was just complaining.”
Sora looked toward the food street and noticed a group of people with cameras interviewing a beautiful professional woman.
Then, like a lightning bolt, an idea struck her.
‘I got it!’
Finding DATS was difficult, but making DATS find her was easy.
She just had to… get on TV!
“Let’s go. We’re heading over there.”
