Sora turned off the television.
“Eh? Why did you stop watching?” Angewomon asked in confusion.
Sora didn’t answer but instead asked back, “Do you like it that much?”
“Uh, no… I didn’t…” Angewomon calmed down, feeling too embarrassed to admit it.
She had accidentally gotten charmed… How inappropriate.
Even Sora, the one truly in control, could resist—yet she, an angel, had lost herself so easily, and right in front of Sora, no less. It was too… too embarrassing.
“Thank you, Sora.” Angewomon expressed her gratitude. If Sora hadn’t turned off the television, she might have unknowingly fallen deeper.
After a brief silence, Sora murmured, “I don’t want you to become a bad girl.”
Though it contradicted her earlier behavior, it was her true feeling—one bad person in this body was enough.
“Sora…”
“Angewomon…”
The atmosphere was just right for a heartfelt embrace, to feel each other’s heartbeat with warmth… Unfortunately, they shared one body.
“By the way, Angewomon.”
“Yes?”
“The reason we have the potential to evolve into LadyDevimon or Sanzomon might be because of you.”
With Sora’s mindset, evolving into a female Digimon wasn’t very likely, so there was only one explanation—Angewomon.
“I see… It seems evolution is even deeper than I imagined.” Angewomon mused.
“Ah~ I’m going to sleep. I’ll leave the rest to you.” After calming down, Sora felt a bit tired. She yawned and drifted off to sleep.
As her consciousness faded, control of the body shifted to Angewomon.
Angewomon picked up the remote and looked at the television screen…
‘I must control myself!’
With great willpower, she put down the remote, took a few deep breaths, and entered a deep meditation state.
Unlike in the Fairy Tail world, the air here lacked a rich magical essence, making her meditation less effective in enhancing her magic power.
However, despite the absence of magic, she sensed another energy—Digisoul.
In this world, everyone possessed a Digisoul, but unlocking it required talent. Those with high talent could fight against Mega-level Digimon, while those with poor talent couldn’t even release their Digisoul.
Although most people couldn’t manifest their Digisoul, they could still release emotions.
Arrogance, envy, anger, sloth, greed, gluttony, lust…
Just as Fallen Evolution was an easy evolutionary path, negative emotions were also easily produced.
Emotions were closely tied to the Digisoul. In fact, emotions were one of its “raw materials.”
A Digimon that absorbed emotions could grow stronger and even evolve, just like a Digimon that absorbed Digisoul.
However, if it absorbed negative emotions, the result was obvious.
This was another reason why Digimon that accidentally entered the human world had to be reverted into Digi-Eggs—this “formatting” process removed the harmful influence of human emotions, preventing them from becoming threats to the Digital World.
“The data in this body is already chaotic enough; I can’t let external emotional energy interfere further.” With this thought, Angewomon focused on training her magic while stabilizing the body’s state.
…
The next day.
Sora’s consciousness awakened.
“Huh? Why does the room look smaller?”
She looked around and found that the walls and ceiling, originally two meters away, were now only one meter away—if not for the unchanged decor, she would have thought she’d been moved into a smaller room.
But, even if her consciousness had been asleep, Angewomon had remained aware, so there was no way she could have been kidnapped.
Angewomon chuckled, “Surprised? It’s not that the room got smaller—it’s that we got bigger.”
“…How did that happen?”
“This is a technique using Digisoul—by temporarily increasing data volume, the body enlarges. I was initially testing evolution, but unexpectedly discovered this application.”
A Digimon’s size was closely tied to its data volume—In Digimon Savers, Digimon seemed larger than in previous seasons, possibly due to advancements in network technology producing more data, leading to “better nutrition.”
Take SaberLeomon, for example.
In the first season, SaberLeomon wasn’t even as big as an elephant, but in “Savers,” SaberLeomon looked like it could swallow an elephant whole.
Even in Digimon Adventure 02: Diablomon Strikes Back, Angewomon and Angemon had briefly grown to the size of Omnimon, despite usually being human-sized.
Under Angewomon’s guidance, Sora learned how to control the gigantification technique and returned to her normal size.
She muttered, “Gigantification, huh… Adjusting my size based on my opponent’s could be surprisingly useful in battle.”
Angewomon commented, “As expected of you, immediately considering its combat applications.”
BOOOM!
Sora was about to respond when a loud explosion suddenly rang out.
The entire DATS headquarters shook.
Sora quickly opened the door and rushed to the command room, “What happened?”
Megumi was off duty and resting in her dormitory.
At the computer sat Miki reported, “Kouki… that Digimon Hunter has transformed into Bio-Thunderbirmon and escaped!”
The large screen displayed Bio-Thunderbirmon flying away.
Sora asked, “Wasn’t he under your captain’s supervision?”
Just then, a tall figure entered the DATS command room—It was Captain Sampson.
He explained, “We attempted to extract the Digimon from Kouki’s body, but he suddenly evolved into Bio-Thunderbirmon, broke through the headquarters’ walls, and escaped.”
Kudamon nodded in agreement—it was exactly as Sampson said.
Sora turned to Kudamon, “Then why didn’t you pursue him?”
Although Bio-Thunderbirmon was fast, Kudamon, upon evolving into Tyilinmon, should’ve been even faster.
Kudamon replied, “It happened too suddenly, and I used up too much energy yesterday. I don’t have the strength to evolve right now.”
‘…Yeah, right. Like I’d believe that. You’re a Royal Knight—there’s no way you’d run out of energy that fast.’
Sora’s face was partially obscured, otherwise, everyone would see her rolling her eyes.
She chuckled, “I see. I almost thought you let him escape on purpose to use him as an undercover agent.”
Captain Sampson and Kudamon stiffened.
…Completely exposed!
As a former detective, Sampson was no stranger to undercover operations—he was merely applying old skills in a new way.
However, this time, the one going undercover wasn’t him—it was Kouki, a complete lowlife—deceitful and ruthless, stopping at nothing to win. Someone like him should never agree to be an informant.
But they had a plan.
Tyilinmon possessed a special skill—”Holy Wave.”
This ability emitted a holy aura that guided targets toward the righteous path.
In other words… It was brainwashing!
Kouki’s willpower was surprisingly strong—it took six hours to successfully brainwash him, transforming him from a scumbag into a bright, justice-loving young man.
When Sampson suggested the undercover mission, Kouki agreed without thinking.
“For the sake of justice, I shall not hesitate!” Kouki had declared, eyes shining with conviction.
To fool the enemy, they had to fool their allies first.
Thus, Sampson and Kudamon staged the escape… And yet, Angewomon had seen through it instantly!
Had she studied military strategy? She was too sharp!
