Ch 105 : Take A Yuan out for a stroll

The next day.

Bai Qiu woke up from the sofa, ending his meditation from the night before.

Glancing toward the bed, he couldn’t help but shake his head helplessly.

Yesterday, he still couldn’t refuse Zhang Shiyao and let her sleep in his room.

But today she didn’t wake up early—probably because she stayed up too late watching him enter his meditative state.

Silently, Bai Qiu walked over to the bedside and pulled the blanket—now kicked down and bunched up around her calves—back over her.

After that, he went through his usual routine: washing up, then heading to Wang Renfeng’s place for breakfast.

However, today he didn’t go outside to let A Yuan out to feed.

Instead, he directly used the teleportation device in Zone 2233 to arrive at Zone 2224.

He quickly ran up the mountain, chose a good vantage point, and released A Yuan.

“Moo… moo…” The moment A Yuan came out, it rubbed its head all over Bai Qiu, making him chuckle.

He couldn’t help but rub its head for quite a while before saying,

“Alright, alright—take a look at where we are,” Bai Qiu said with a smile, lightly scratching A Yuan’s cheek.

A Yuan’s round little eyes carefully scanned the surroundings.

When it spotted the Sankeng Reservoir not far away—rich with dense water-elemental magic—it immediately grew excited.

“Master, Master! Are we going there? That… that place!” A Yuan’s voice echoed in his mind.

Not knowing the reservoir’s name, it could only point in that direction with its tail.

“I brought you out here today just to have some fun. Go back into the contract space for now—it’s still a few kilometers away. I’ll head there first and let you out when we arrive, okay?” Bai Qiu said gently, indulging its childlike nature.

“Okay, okay!” A Yuan nodded eagerly.

Before Bai Qiu could act, it leaned its head toward the contract card and tapped it.

In an instant, A Yuan turned into a streak of white light and was absorbed into the card, which then glowed brightly.

Bai Qiu smiled and shook his head, putting the contract card away.

After stretching a bit, he leapt into the air and dashed toward the reservoir.

The place he had chosen was halfway up the mountain.

The reservoir lay several hundred meters below at a diagonal, and the distance was over a kilometer.

But with Bai Qiu’s current physique and magical prowess, crossing that distance would only take minutes.

A misty aura lingered above the reservoir.

One side leaned against the mountain’s base, while a concrete road had been built along the other.

That side was enclosed by iron fencing over two meters high, with warning signs placed at intervals…

But Bai Qiu descended from above—the fence couldn’t stop him.

Once he reached the area, he found a patch of dense weeds and released A Yuan again.

The moment it came out, A Yuan happily circled around Bai Qiu.

Then, it dipped its snake-like head into the water and slithered its entire body in.

After a while, A Yuan turned around, facing Bai Qiu, and let out two “moo” sounds.

He understood—it wanted him to stand on its head, to carry him as it swam.

Bai Qiu was interested too, but instead of jumping directly onto A Yuan’s head, he condensed magic beneath his feet to form steps, walking up them one by one until he reached A Yuan’s head, where he gently sat down.

After all, A Yuan’s head was so smooth—recently polished by Bai Qiu’s constant petting—that it almost had a glossy sheen.

Under the sunlight, it shone like an 800-watt light bulb.

How could he bear to step on it?

A Yuan carried Bai Qiu as it roamed freely through the water, occasionally lowering its head to take in a mouthful of water, then lifting it to spray it out, playing to its heart’s content.

It seemed that the spatial rifts would deploy corresponding monsters based on the environment of each area.

For example, in a large reservoir like this, only flying creatures like Dragonfang Soldiers would appear.

One such Dragonfang Soldier was teleported in, directly above Bai Qiu and A Yuan.

Bai Qiu remained expressionless, but a thought of killing it surfaced in his mind.

A Yuan immediately picked up on his intent and looked up at the incoming monster.

“Pfft!” A water arrow shot out from its mouth, instantly piercing through the Dragonfang Soldier’s body and turning it into a streak of white light as it disappeared.

“Hmph! If Master hates it, A Yuan hates it too!” Sensing its thoughts, Bai Qiu smiled and flicked its cheek.

He hadn’t expected it to attack the monster on its own just for his sake.

It was unexpected—but he didn’t dislike it.

The item dropped by the Dragonfang Soldier was automatically collected by Bai Qiu.

Stroking his chin, he wondered whether he should also bring A Yuan along to level up.

He knew that even without grinding monsters, A Yuan would continue to grow stronger and larger.

But if the level gap became too wide, it would eventually fall behind.

It might be able to casually spit out a water arrow now and instantly kill a Dragonfang Soldier—but what about later, when even the basic monsters became higher level?

If its level was too low to deal damage, would it become frustrated?

While he was thinking, A Yuan suddenly dove straight into the water without warning, catching Bai Qiu off guard.

Most of his pants got soaked, though he managed to react in time and formed a foothold with magic.

After a while, A Yuan’s head slowly emerged from the water, with a large grass carp clamped in its mouth, thrashing wildly.

Judging by its size, it weighed at least 10kg —definitely a big catch.

“Master, Master! I caught—huh?” A Yuan excitedly tried to come over and show off, but when it saw Bai Qiu standing on the water with his pants soaked and his face darkened, it froze.

“Ah… the fish…” While it was stunned, the grass carp seized the chance to escape and swam away into the distance.

Already feeling a bit guilty seeing Bai Qiu upset, A Yuan now became even more dejected.

Bubbles rose one after another from its nostrils as it lowered its head, looking utterly crestfallen.

“Sigh, forget it. I’m not blaming you—just be more careful next time,” Bai Qiu said with a sigh.

At the same time, with a wave of his hand, a massive hand formed from intertwined magic power and mental force reached down into the water.

Before long…

The large grass carp that had just escaped was grabbed and brought back by this invisible hand.

It was terrified to find that, although there was nothing around it, it was being irresistibly pulled back toward that dangerous giant snake…

Holding the fish, Bai Qiu brought it in front of A Yuan and comforted it, “Alright, your fish is back now.”

Hearing this, A Yuan slowly lifted its head.

Seeing that the very same fish had indeed returned—now in Bai Qiu’s hand—it cautiously opened its mouth and took the fish in.

Bai Qiu let go and said calmly, “It’s partly my fault—I haven’t fed you yet today. Go ahead and eat. After that, I’ll get you some more.”

Only then did A Yuan tilt its head back, toss the fish into the air, then open its massive jaws wide and swallow it whole as it fell!
