[That young man’s expression looks really off! Could it be that there’s something wrong with this place?]
[Hurry up and explain! I’m way too curious!]
[I think you guys are overthinking it! What could possibly be wrong? It’s just part of the script! Finding this place means they’re about to get exposed! I’m telling you, that young man is just feeling guilty!]
[Exactly! Exactly! He can’t keep acting anymore, huh!]
[Don’t be too hard on the young man! At most, he’s just helping out with the act, like a worker bee. If you want to blame someone, blame the streamer! This whole thing was self-directed and self-acted by the streamer!]
[Some of you really have a double standard for men! If it’s scripted, then both of them are in on it. Why is the male accomplice suddenly an innocent bystander?]
[Yeah, exactly!]
Ruan Xingyao watched as the barrage of comments grew more heated, and finally spoke to “Doudian’s Real Dad”: “Young man, aren’t you going to get your cat?”
“Doudian’s Real Dad” snapped out of it, as if making a huge decision, and said to Ruan Xingyao, “Go!”
That was his cat!
Why shouldn’t he go?!
And so, everyone saw “Doudian’s Real Dad” stride into the stairwell looking full of momentum, and even when he got into the elevator, he still wore a fierce expression.
That expression didn’t look like he was going to find a cat—it looked like he was going to settle a score.
It wasn’t until the elevator reached the floor Sang Biao had mentioned that “Doudian’s Real Dad” expression began to change.
And now, he looked especially guilty.
The barrage of comments became even more confused by his change in expression.
[What’s going on? What happened to the young man? Where’s that energy from before? Charge! Go for it!]
[See? I told you, he’s feeling guilty!]
[Stop hesitating! I just want to know if the streamer really has skills. If she do, I want to connect with her too!]
However, no matter how much the comments urged him on, “Doudian’s Real Dad” just stood still inside the elevator, not moving an inch.
Meanwhile, Sang Biao had already gone back and forth between the elevator several times.
Seeing “Doudian’s Real Dad” still unmoving, Sang Biao let out several impatient “meow meow” cries.
Finally, just as “Doudian’s Real Dad” was about to step out of the elevator, the door to the opposite apartment suddenly swung open.
A curly-haired beauty in a jade-green silk camisole dress leaned against the doorframe, cradling in her arms a black cat that looked exactly like Sang Biao.
It was obvious—this was Doudian.
【Whoa! So this is Doudian? She really does look exactly like Sang Biao!】
【Confirmed. The tail’s intact—this is Doudian!】
【You guys are all looking at the cat, but I’m looking at the pretty lady! Her skin’s so fair, her face is gorgeous! I swear I can almost smell her fragrance through the screen!】
【Mom asked me why I was licking the screen! I kneeled and said, “Because my destined sister has appeared!”】
Ruan Xingyao glanced at the live chat scrolling with comments about the beautiful woman—fortunately, they were all compliments, so she could breathe a little easier.
“Doudian’s Real Dad”, however, quickly pulled back the foot he had been about to step out with.
The woman glanced at him, then patted Doudian gently on the back before setting her down on the floor.
“Go,” the woman said, “look at your useless real dad—still the same coward as ever.”
Hearing this, “Doudian’s Real Dad” instantly bristled.
He strode over in a few quick steps, grabbed the woman’s arm, and yanked her upright.
The next second, he pulled her forcefully into his arms.
“Zheng Yin! You’ve grown bold! Talking crap about me in front of Doudian!”
Zheng Yin shoved him away hard, rubbing at the red mark his grip had left on her arm, and snapped, “Bold? You lost Doudian and didn’t even notice! If that doesn’t make you useless, then what does?”
As if to prove her words, Doudian suddenly leapt onto the man, lifted the paw that had been injured back when she got stuck on the security window, and smacked him across the face.
“Meow meow meow! Meow meow meow meow! Meow meow meow meow meow meow meow meow meow!”
【Stupid dad! You’re just a useless, tsundere idiot—clearly you miss mom, but you don’t have the guts to go find her, so I had to come out and look for her myself!】
“Meow meow meow! Meow meow meow meow meow meow!”
【And then, you stupid dad, you even brought another cat home! I’m furious!】
Ruan Xingyao translated all of Doudian’s “words” for the audience.
【Hahahahaha! So it’s helping dad find a mom! The cat’s good! The mom’s good! The dad’s bad!】
【So that means, this really isn’t scripted?】
【Who cares if it’s scripted or not! Right now I just want to know—can the next connection be me?!】
Ruan Xingyao saw this comment on the barrage and said,
“Since Doudian has already been found, the rest is your own business, so I’ll cut the connection here.”
“Doudian’s Real Dad” couldn’t care less about what Ruan Xingyao was saying now—his mind was completely filled with thoughts of Zheng Yin, to the point he didn’t even bother with Doudian anymore.
He casually responded with a sentence, then cut the connection.
Ruan Xingyao immediately clicked on the next connection.
This time, the connected ID was “I’m the Best at Making Money This Year,” a girl with two bun-shaped pigtails, looking playful and cute.
As soon as the video connected, she couldn’t wait to greet Ruan Xingyao.
“Hello, Starry Host!”
Ruan Xingyao happily greeted her back.
“I’m the Best at Making Money This Year” smiled sweetly at Ruan Xingyao and said,
“Starry Host, can you really understand what little animals are saying?”
Ruan Xingyao nodded and replied, “Yes.”
“I’m the Best at Making Money This Year”: “So that means you can understand any little animal?”
Ruan Xingyao nodded again and said, “Whether it’s flying in the sky, running on the ground, or swimming in the sea—if you can bring it out, I can understand it.”
“I’m the Best at Making Money This Year”: “Then I won’t be polite!”
Her smile turned sly, no longer the picture of cuteness—her eyes were now full of calculation.
Before taking out the little animal she wanted to show Ruan Xingyao, she rather “kindly” addressed the audience watching the stream,
“I’ll warn you guys first—the little animal I’m about to bring out is really scary. If you’re faint of heart, you’d better leave now so you don’t get frightened into trouble!”
However, the more she said that, the more it piqued everyone’s curiosity.
The viewer count in Ruan Xingyao’s live room didn’t go down—instead, it went up.
A glint of malice flashed in “I’m the Best at Making Money This Year”’s eyes.
She continued to “kindly” remind, “I really am going to take it out now, so don’t get scared later.”
Ruan Xingyao’s eyes shifted slightly, and she quickly realized—the girl wasn’t sincerely here to find out what her pet was thinking.
She’d only come to cause trouble.
But Ruan Xingyao didn’t really mind people like this.
In fact, she was more curious about exactly what kind of terrifying little animal this girl kept that made her so confident she could stir up trouble.
