“Digimon are naturally vicious, so what does it matter if we kill them?”
Kurata was indifferent, clearly placing no value on the lives of Digimon. Forget Digimon—he barely cared for human lives outside his own.
Spencer’s anger at him was, in Kurata’s eyes, nothing but foolishness.
“Kurata, you don’t understand Digimon at all…” Spencer clenched his fists.
The incident ten years ago had been largely accidental—best left unmentioned.
Five years ago, if not for Kurata, peace between the Digital World and the human world could have been achieved.
He could have retired in glory, returning to be with his family.
But because Kurata began slaughtering Digimon five years ago, Spencer had to stake his life to buy time for humanity—and as a result, was imprisoned by Yggdrasill for five years.
It was all Kurata’s fault!
Spencer ground his teeth. “I’m taking you to Yggdrasill to face judgment!”
“Yggdrasill? What’s that?” Kurata scoffed.
He didn’t know what Yggdrasill was and didn’t care to. They were beneath his concern. ‘Probably just a place name,’ he assumed.
“No one has the right to judge me! Kouki, take them all out.”
At Kurata’s command, Bio-Darkdramon struck.
Its right hand was fitted with a metallic lance.
“Giga Stick Lance!”
Golden sparks danced across the weapon’s shaft.
This lance rivaled the holy lance Gram wielded by Gallantmon—its power undeniable.
“Hmph…” BanchoLeomon’s eyes blazed as Bio-Darkdramon charged. He didn’t flinch, instead drawing his short blade.
“Roaring Bancho Blade!”
The blade was named Otokodama—far too broad and thick for a human, and not really short either, but for BanchoLeomon’s size, it was indeed a short blade.
Its surface was covered in scars, proof of countless battles.
Clang!
Blade and lance collided!
The clash of metal rang through the skies.
In size, they were worlds apart. BanchoLeomon looked like a doll that Bio-Darkdramon could crush in one hand. His short blade, compared to the Giga Stick Lance, was like a fruit knife versus a warship-slicing sword.
From appearance alone, BanchoLeomon had no chance.
Yet, the result was unexpected.
BanchoLeomon stood unmoved, while Bio-Darkdramon—ten times his size—was knocked back a dozen meters by the impact!
“What?!”
Kurata was stunned, as if witnessing an ant knocking over an elephant.
This defied science!
“Damn it!”
Compared to the shocked onlooker Kurata, Bio-Darkdramon was livid.
To be driven back by this runt?
The Humiliation!
Seething with rage, Bio-Darkdramon opened its massive, fanged mouth. A black substance dripped forth—”dark energy”—and rapidly condensed into a sphere.
“Dark Roar!”
Dark energy fired as a massive orb. This forbidden move was devastating. No one could survive it.
“Die!”
The black orb shot forth.
BanchoLeomon narrowed his eyes, sheathed his blade, and punched.
“Shining Bancho Punch!”
Blinding light wreathed his massive right fist as it blasted forward like a cannonball.
It struck the bottom of the dark orb with perfect precision, knocking it skyward with refined force.
BOOM!
A massive explosion erupted in the sky, the dark energy turning into a scorching firework. The shockwave slammed the earth, sending debris flying.
Backlit by the blast, BanchoLeomon stood tall, his coat flapping in the wind, his eyes burning bright.
A true powerhouse!
“Impossible?!” Bio-Darkdramon couldn’t believe it. His forbidden trump card was nullified just like that?
“Kid, you’ve still got a lot to learn!”
Fighting wasn’t just about throwing big moves!
Seizing the moment of distraction, BanchoLeomon closed in like a storm and landed another Shining Bancho Punch straight into Bio-Darkdramon’s chest.
BOOM!
Bio-Darkdramon was launched over a hundred meters back.
Meanwhile, Spencer advanced step by step toward Kurata. “Kurata, give it up!”
Seeing his prized Bio-Darkdramon defeated and Spencer approaching with murderous intent, Kurata recoiled half a step.
Cold sweat ran down his face as he stammered, “D-Don’t come any closer!”
Spencer pressed forward, undeterred.
Kurata felt a chill—though then he calmed, as a thought struck him. A wicked smile crept across his face.
“What are you smiling at?” Spencer asked coldly.
Kurata smirked. “Do you remember the Space-Time Oscillation Bomb?”
Spencer froze.
Of course, he remembered. Ten years ago, the expedition team had used that very bomb to escape the Digital World.
But the Space-Time Oscillation Bomb had devastating effects on the space-time barrier between the two worlds. It was obsolete tech with extreme side effects, long replaced by DATS’ modern teleportation systems.
Kurata regained his arrogant composure.
With a smug grin, he said, “You should know how destructive the Oscillation Bomb is to space-time walls. I’ve been using it in Tokyo for years. That region’s barrier is already full of holes.”
In truth, he hadn’t known or cared before.
But after Kouki was freed from control, he told Kurata everything from his time with DATS.
That’s how Kurata learned the real consequences of his years of Oscillation Bomb usage. He knew now—any more large-scale use could completely shatter the space-time barrier and cause the Digital and human worlds to collide.
An apocalyptic event for both sides!
While to Kurata, it was a golden opportunity! Especially now—a massive advantage!
“What do you think will happen if I set off another large-scale Oscillation Bomb detonation?”
He grinned. “You know, the barrier will break completely, and the two worlds will crash into each other. All eight billion humans and all Digimon here will die!”
Spencer’s pupils shrank.
BanchoLeomon scowled.
“Kurata, are you insane?!” Spencer shouted.
“Hahahaha!” Kurata burst into laughter. The more agitated Spencer got, the happier he became.
“Of course I don’t want the world destroyed. I’m no doomsday villain. But… Spencer, you left me no choice!”
“What?!” Spencer was stunned.
Kurata sneered. “If the barrier shatters and the worlds collide, it’ll be your fault! Spencer Damon, you’ll go down as the greatest sinner in both worlds!”
“…” Twisted logic, yet Spencer had no words to counter.
Kurata jeered, “You don’t want the world to end either, do you?”
“…” Spencer stayed silent.
Of course, he didn’t want that. But what could he say now?
SMACK!
Kurata slapped Spencer across the face, knocking him back several steps.
“Spencer!”
BanchoLeomon roared.
“Where are you looking?!”
Suddenly, Bio-Darkdramon attacked with the Giga Stick Lance.
Distracted by Spencer being struck, BanchoLeomon had no time to brace properly. He hastily blocked with his blade but couldn’t fully resist the overwhelming force and was blasted away.
