“Heaven’s Charm!”
Sora unleashed a new technique.
In an instant, the peace conference hall was bathed in prismatic light.
Everyone present felt as if they were in a dreamscape—warm, comfortable, and serene.
That was the healing effect of Heaven’s Charm at work.
At the source of these dazzling rays, just above Sora’s head, floated a golden halo, like the ones angels wear in myths and legends—only ten times larger.
This halo not only emitted healing light, but it also absorbed and focused energy.
Standing beneath it, Sora looked more angelic than ever.
“Give me your DigiSouls,” Sora said, reaching a hand toward the camera.
All around the world, those who had awakened their DigiSouls reached toward their screens.
Take it.
Take it all.
“My DigiSoul—go to Angewomon and become her strength!”
The DigiSouls passed into the screens, traveling via satellites, undersea cables, and other networks, converging inside the peace summit hall.
Meanwhile, a red streak shot across the sky above the Pacific.
It was Sleipmon!
“Hold on, Angewomon!”
Once Kudamon received word of Belphemon’s appearance, it immediately evolved into Sleipmon and rushed toward New York at maximum speed.
‘Ten minutes!’
‘Just ten more minutes!’
Could Angewomon last ten minutes against Belphemon?
Sleipmon grew more anxious. How could she possibly withstand Belphemon for ten whole minutes?
‘Damn it! Why did it have to be that Demon Lord!’
…
‘Given New York City’s population… even one in a hundred would still be thousands, maybe tens of thousands with awakened DigiSouls. That much should be enough to hold out until Sleipmon arrives,’ Sora thought.
Due to distance limitations, collecting DigiSouls globally was unrealistic. Her goal was only to gather those within New York.
Whoosh!
The wind stirred—there shouldn’t be wind in the hall.
What was that breeze?
It was the wind brought forth by DigiSouls.
Each camera in the hall became like an open faucet, streaming out waves of DigiSouls—red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, violet—all feeding into the halo of Heaven’s Charm.
‘So many!’
Sora thought, ‘This can’t be just New York… could it be from the entire world?’
How many people are on Earth?
Even one in a hundred would mean tens of millions could awaken DigiSouls. Factor in time zones, distractions, and the TV broadcast reach, and let’s estimate ten million.
Ten million DigiSouls!
Even if each individual DigiSoul averaged only Champion-level strength, quantity becomes quality—especially when unified in support of one goal: empowering Sora.
Their will harmonized, merged, and elevated!
Just like in Our War Game!, when WarGreymon and MetalGarurumon evolved into Omnimon through the hopes of children across the world…
Now, these multicolored DigiSouls followed the same path, flowing into the halo, transmuting into a brilliant gold.
That was light!
That was hope!
Sora was awestruck and relieved.
‘Good thing they can merge on their own… there’s no way I could control this much energy through Heaven’s Charm alone.’
Meanwhile, deep within the Digital World—
“Impossible! Humans can release energy this powerful?!”
Yggdrasill was stunned.
That power exceeded even its own!
Caution. Extreme caution!
“Create a contingency plan against humanity.”
And this Angewomon, who could so easily harness such power, also warranted caution.
“Create a contingency plan against Angewomon.”
Two plans, formed instantly, made Yggdrasill simultaneously proud and fearful.
What if this godlike ability to strategize fell into darkness?
“…Create a contingency plan against Yggdrasill itself.”
Even it had to prepare for itself.
…
“DigiSouls of radiance…”
If she could, Sora would love to feel what it’s like to become Shining Tiga.
But instinct told her—not happening.
First, her body likely couldn’t contain this much energy without bursting.
Second, these radiant DigiSouls brimmed with expectations for Angewomon with Venusmon’s soul.
Even if her body held, her sense of self might drown in those hopes, completely reshaped into what people expected.
“I’ve received everyone’s DigiSouls.”
Sora smiled, radiant and peerless. Her voice was gentle as she addressed the camera:
“Come. Let’s go clear the path toward our bright future and defeat the one standing in our way.”
She exited the hall and ascended to the rooftop.
Belphemon was now only about a kilometer away.
He noticed her—With that blazing halo over her head, no creature with eyes could miss her.
“Angewomon? Why does she look different?… Did she evolve?”
Inside Belphemon, Kurata gripped the controls, full of disdain.
‘So what if she evolved? What can that frail body possibly do?’
‘Die!’
Kurata had Belphemon raise its hands and release black fire from its claws—a towering black pillar blazing toward Sora’s rooftop location.
If it hit, the entire building and everything behind it would become ruins.
This attack was called “Lampranthus.”
A flower from the sun descending to Earth meant only one thing: annihilation.
Kurata had initially wanted to capture this Angewomon for research. But now, as Belphemon: Rage Mode, his fury distorted his reason.
‘Destroy! Destroy! Destroy!’
‘Let it all burn!’
…
Facing such horrifying power, Sora drew her great bow.
An arrow formed from radiant DigiSoul would be massive, impossible to nock with just her arms.
Then…
She recalled a young hero. *EMIYA
‘Holy Arrow, Full Draw!’
Right foot firm on the ground, left leg raised high.
The wing-shaped etching on her left leg armor glowed, became real, and extended into a massive wing-bow.
Sora drew the bowstring with both hands.
The shining DigiSoul gathered into a colossal arrow of light, glowing gold, its tip pointed directly at Belphemon.
“Shining Arrow!”
She loosed the string, and the light arrow soared.
Like a golden comet streaking through the night, it crossed kilometers in an incomprehensible instant, pierced the black flames, and drove into Belphemon’s chest.
BOOOOOM!!
The energy exploded within, spreading like lightning across every nerve, shattering muscle, bone, and organs…
And the mighty Demon Lord of Sloth crumbled.
Only a DigiEgg and Kurata remained.
“No way…”
Kurata stared in disbelief.
One strike… One arrow!
He had sacrificed years—maybe five, maybe ten—to revive Belphemon, create Gizmon, develop Bio-Digimon, invade the Digital World, slaughter countless Digimon, and extract infinite life energy…
All of it, gone in a blink.
“It’s not over yet!”
Kurata pulled out his final Space-Time Oscillation Bomb.
He would escape to the Digital World, vanish for another ten or twenty years, and rise again!
Whoosh!
Another arrow flew.
This time, it was white—a standard Holy Arrow from Sora.
“Huh?”
Kurata felt a sudden lightness in his right arm.
He glanced down.
His right arm was gone.
Pain surged through him like a tidal wave.
“AAAHHH—!!!”
“Tch, missed again.”
Compared to the building-sized Belphemon, Kurata was just too small a target.
But no matter. Get a little closer, and another arrow would do.
Sora hovered in the air nearby, wings spread wide. She had released her Take Over Magic and returned to her normal Angewomon form.
Kurata, drenched in sweat and trembling in pain, tried to stay calm.
“Wait! You know about the Space-Time Oscillation Bombs, right? I’ve planted a ton of them. If I don’t defuse them on schedule, they’ll shatter the space-time barrier and cause the Digital and Human Worlds to collide!”
“Oh? You still have that level of cunning?” Sora said with mild surprise, realizing, “So that’s how you escaped, Marcus. Makes sense now.”
Kurata, sensing opportunity, smiled like he had with Marcus, “Angewomon, you wouldn’t want the worlds destroyed, would you?”
“Heaven’s Purple Light.”
A purple beam, as thin as a finger, pierced Kurata right through the forehead.
“You… you…”
Kurata stared at her in disbelief.
So decisive.
Wasn’t she supposed to be kind?
Wasn’t she the type to be bullied, deceived, and morally blackmailed?
‘Why, why…’
His thoughts dissolved into chaos, then stopped.
Kurata was dead.
