Sora wasn’t afraid of Kurata’s threats—because even if the dimensional wall were shattered, there was still Yggdrasill.
According to the original series, Yggdrasill absolutely could repair it.
Besides, would Kurata really dare destroy the dimensional barrier? He wouldn’t dare!
No matter how you looked at it, Sora had no reason to fear.
“Angewomon, do you think I was too ruthless?”
She didn’t care how the world viewed her—but she did care what Angewomon thought. After all, they were two hearts, one body.
“Not at all,” Angewomon replied.
It wasn’t meant to console her—she truly didn’t mind. Though she was kind, Angewomon never showed mercy to irredeemable enemies.
After a brief pause, she added, “If it had been me facing that threat alone, I might not have dared to do anything to Kurata. You solved a big problem, Sora.”
[Holydramon: 13%]
Sora noticed the minor change on her interface and murmured, “Oh? The chance to evolve into Holydramon increased by ten percent.”
“It’s probably because we destroyed Belphemon and that villain, Kurata. It proves even more we’re on the right path.”.
Sora smiled faintly.
…Just a ten percent boost after defeating Belphemon and Kurata? Would she have to eliminate eighteen more villains to reach 100% Holydramon evolution probability?
Do street thug-level enemies count? If so… that wouldn’t be hard.
Especially here in America.
“Take Over Magic—Venusmon’s Soul!”
After resting a bit to recover some energy, she once again took over the Venusmon soul.
She stepped back in front of the camera with a gentle smile and said warmly, “Thank you, everyone! Your strength has protected our bright future!”
People around the world who had witnessed Belphemon’s destruction through the broadcast erupted into cheers. Having banded together to defeat a great enemy had even forged a bit of camaraderie.
Kurata’s death made the peace conference proceed even more smoothly.
Sora continued, “From now on, let’s work together to make the world a better place.”
“Yeah!”
“Yes, Lady Angewomon!”
“Angewomon-sama is the best!”
“Angewomon-sama, you’re number one in the world!”
“Angewomon-sama, we revere you!”
The people whose Digisouls had been ignited clearly symbolized the future of the human world—they were the ones with passionate hearts. The future belonged to them.
And Sora looked forward to the years to come.
Hand in hand with the Digital World, creating a Pokémon-style ecosystem with a Digital World twist?
That thought lingering, she instructed the staff to turn off the broadcast camera. She then released her Takeover magic and began recovering her strength while turning her gaze to the western sky.
A few minutes later… She spotted a red dot.
Sleipmon!
“It’s already over?”
Sleipmon saw Belphemon’s DigiEgg and was left speechless. He hadn’t expected Angewomon to actually defeat Belphemon.
Belphemon was one of the Seven Great Demon Lords—an overwhelmingly powerful force. Even Sleipmon, a Royal Knight, had to face him seriously.
‘Angewomon… How many surprises are you still hiding?’
Sleipmon couldn’t help but marvel.
Sora smiled faintly. “Sorry for making you rush over. Thank you. Your arrival meant a lot to me.”
Initially, she had only intended to borrow New York’s Digisouls to buy time. She hadn’t expected to tap into the world’s—enough to obliterate Belphemon in one shot, making Sleipmon’s arrival seem unnecessary.
Otherwise, Sleipmon was her true trump card against Belphemon.
Sleipmon chuckled. “It’s fine. As long as you’re safe.”
He picked up Belphemon’s DigiEgg. A Demon Lord’s DigiEgg couldn’t be casually transmitted back to the Digital World—it needed to be sealed away in a secret place to prevent its rebirth.
Sora had a question: “Why not destroy it entirely? Like what was done with Gizmon. Shouldn’t Yggdrasill be able to do that?”
“It can,” Sleipmon replied. “But it would only destroy this one Demon Lord’s DigiEgg. The power of Sloth it represents wouldn’t vanish—it would simply transfer to another similar being, and another disaster would follow.”
Sora understood. “So you’re using this Demon Lord’s DigiEgg to occupy the slot, preventing a new Sloth Demon Lord from emerging.”
Holding the position without actually acting—Crude, maybe, but accurate.
“Exactly. I’ll be going now.” Sleipmon, DigiEgg in tow, was about to take to the skies.
“Wait, one more thing,” Sora called.
He paused. “What is it now?”
“Just a proposal.”
Sora raised a finger. “Let’s establish several fixed channels between the Digital World and the Human World. And have the Royal Knights patrol within the dimensional walls. That way, if someone ever uses another Space-Time Oscillation Bomb, we’ll catch it immediately.”
Then another thought occurred to her. “By the way, do you Royal Knights get paid?”
Sleipmon puffed up his chest. “We fight for the honor and justice of the Royal Knights.”
‘So… no pay.’
Sora had been about to request a reward from Yggdrasill—seeing even Royal Knights don’t get paid, she let it go. “Anyway, that’s my suggestion.”
“I’ll inform Yggdrasill,” Sleipmon nodded. After confirming there was nothing else, he soared into the sky and quickly disappeared beyond the horizon.
Sora returned to the peace conference venue, wrapped up some remaining matters, and gave another speech.
“My achievements today are thanks to the appointment from Yggdrasill, the merciful god of the Digital World…”
[Ophanimon: 3%]
After the speech, her chance of evolving into Ophanimon slightly increased.
In the lore, Ophanimon represented the divine love and merciful side of God.
While the “God” in question likely wasn’t Yggdrasill, it was still a Digital World deity.
Though honestly, it wasn’t a lie—Yggdrasill was merciful.
In the original, even after Kurata repeatedly massacred Digimon, with several Mega-levels falling, Yggdrasill still sought peaceful coexistence—until the dimensional wall was destroyed and the two worlds neared collision. Only then did Yggdrasill snap.
In Sora’s eyes, Yggdrasill was overly merciful—too tolerant!
If it had lost its temper the first time Kurata slaughtered Digimon and forced him and his backers to realize the power gap between the two worlds, maybe peace would have arrived long ago.
Too much tolerance, and then an overcorrection.
‘Yggdrasill isn’t suited to be the god of the Digital World… someone else should take that role…’
That thought suddenly flashed through Sora’s mind.
But she quickly cast it aside.
Subjectively, she didn’t want to be some Digital World god, and objectively, she couldn’t beat Yggdrasill anyway.
Better to focus on her own Evolution.
There were four potential paths: Venusmon, Holydramon, Ophanimon, and LovelyAngemon.
She had already received Venusmon’s soul, so increasing its probability didn’t matter.
“So it seems… close combat boosts LovelyAngemon’s Evolution, defeating evil boosts Holydramon, and spreading divine love boosts Ophanimon.”
Those were the methods she’d discovered so far—not necessarily the only ones.
